Eliminate sulfur odor, iron staining, and manganese from your water — naturally, without chemicals.
Sulfur, iron, and manganese can be removed using nature's own process of oxidation. The RoyalSoft AerPro maintains an air pocket in the top of the tank while the system is in service. As water passes through the air pocket, these elements are oxidized and a mixed media bed filters them out — adding dissolved oxygen back into the water. The AerPro Signature Series removes up to 7.0 ppm Iron and up to 9.0 ppm Sulfur. A daily backwash removes accumulated iron and re-oxidizes the filter media bed. NSF/ANSI 44 certified and Built in U.S.A.
Free in-home water test · 100% Satisfaction Guarantee · No up-sell pressure
The RoyalSoft AerPro delivers iron-, sulfur-, and manganese-free water to every tap, fixture, and appliance in your home simultaneously. Using patented air pocket oxidation technology, contaminants are oxidized and captured by an exclusive mixed media bed — with no chemicals required. The daily backwash cycle removes accumulated iron and re-oxidizes the media bed automatically.
The AerPro's Signature Series control valve features solid-state microprocessors with an easy-access front panel display. A patented Rotary Disc design delays regeneration if water usage is detected, and a capacitor provides a two-hour power carry-over backup. Settings are stored in non-volatile memory, and advanced history and diagnostic screens make maintenance simple.
The patented RoyalSoft ceramic discs are diamond-hard — they won't wear out like traditional seals, spacers, and pistons. Corrosion and abrasion resistant, they ensure many years of worry-free operation with virtually no maintenance. Backed by a Lifetime Guarantee on wear parts.
The AerPro uses a proprietary custom blend of filtration media for efficient reduction of iron, sulfur, and manganese. A separate custom media blend provides the support bed beneath the filter media, ensuring high-efficiency backwashing and long-term performance. High-quality filtration medias are selected to target your specific water problems.
Iron in your water leaves orange-brown rust stains on sinks, tubs, toilets, and laundry. The AerPro removes up to 7.0 ppm of iron before it reaches a single fixture — stopping stains before they start.
Hydrogen sulfide gives water that unmistakable rotten egg smell. The AerPro removes up to 9.0 ppm of sulfur using natural oxidation — restoring fresh, odor-free water throughout your home.
Iron and sulfur in water can dry out skin, damage hair, and fade and discolor clothing over time. Removing these contaminants at the point of entry means cleaner, gentler water for your whole family.
Iron buildup clogs pipes, fouls water heaters, and damages dishwashers and washing machines. The AerPro protects your appliances and plumbing with clean, iron-free water — increasing longevity and reducing repair bills.
The AerPro uses nature's own process of oxidation — fresh air — to remove iron, sulfur, and manganese from your water. No chemicals, no salt, and no harsh additives entering your drain or local waterways.
By replacing traditional seals and pistons with ceramic discs, we eliminate the need for replacement parts over the life of the system — reducing manufacturing waste and keeping more plastic out of landfills.
Clean Water Pro is committed to responsible water treatment. The AerPro's fully adjustable regeneration cycles minimize water usage with each backwash, and the system's NSF/ANSI 44 certification ensures it meets stringent global standards for safety and performance.

What does an aeration system actually do?
An aeration system works by introducing air into your water supply before it enters your home. When dissolved gases and certain metals — like iron, sulfur, and manganese — come into contact with oxygen, they oxidize and form particles that can then be filtered out downstream.
Do I need an aeration system, or will a softener be enough?
These two systems solve different problems. A water softener addresses hardness — it removes calcium and magnesium to prevent scale buildup and protect your appliances. Aeration, on the other hand, targets dissolved gases and oxidizable metals like iron, sulfur, and manganese.
If your water has a strong smell, visible rust-colored staining, or comes from a well, aeration is likely needed. Many homeowners ultimately need both: aeration upstream to oxidize and eliminate odor-causing gases, followed by a softener to handle hardness. A water quality test is the best way to know exactly what your water contains — and what it needs.
What contaminants does aeration remove?
Aeration is most effective at removing hydrogen sulfide (the rotten egg smell), dissolved iron and manganese (which cause rust-colored stains), radon, carbon dioxide, and some volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
It's important to understand that aeration is not a complete filtration solution on its own. It does not remove bacteria, lead, nitrates, or most heavy metals. For those contaminants, additional treatment — such as a carbon filter, reverse osmosis, or UV purification — is needed. A comprehensive water test will help identify exactly what treatment combination is right for your home.
Will this get rid of the rotten egg smell in my water?
Yes — in most cases, aeration is one of the most effective solutions for eliminating the sulfur or "rotten egg" odor in water. That smell is caused by hydrogen sulfide gas, which is naturally dissolved in well water or produced by sulfur bacteria. When water is exposed to air in the aeration process, the hydrogen sulfide oxidizes and off-gasses, eliminating the odor at the source.
Is aeration safe for city/municipal water, or is it just for well water?
Aeration is safe for both, though it's far more commonly needed for well water. Well water often contains naturally occurring dissolved gases and metals — hydrogen sulfide, iron, and manganese — that municipal treatment plants typically address before the water reaches your tap.
That said, municipal water isn't always problem-free. Older pipes can introduce iron or other contaminants as water travels to your home, and some treated water can still carry low levels of VOCs. If you're on city water and noticing odors or discoloration, a water test will determine whether aeration or another treatment approach is the right fit.
How much maintenance does an aeration system require?
Aeration systems are generally low-maintenance compared to other water treatment technologies. Most require an annual inspection to check the air injection components, verify pressure settings, and ensure the downstream filter media is in good condition.
The filter or backwash tank paired with your aerator will require occasional media replacement — typically every 3–5 years depending on iron and sediment loads. Many homeowners choose an annual service plan to stay ahead of any wear. Properly maintained, a well-installed aeration system can last 10–15 years or more.
